France, late 19th century, featuring a large cobalt and gilt porcelain covered vase decorated with hand-painted vignettes of a courting couple and garden, dual figural cast handle mounts depicting a Pan cherub atop acanthus spray, the cover figuring a reclined Bacchus cherub, centering a 4 in. porcelain dial, suspension spring movement with gong strike, marked with medallion stamp of "JAPY FRERES & CIE GRD. MED. D'HONNEUR", atop an ormolu footed lozenge form socle with two seated thespian putti flanking an oval cobalt cartouche. Includes pendulum and winding key.

Porcelain with some areas of rubbing to the cobalt and gilt surfaces; ormolu with some spotting and wear to gilt finishes; feet with some looseness; clock hammer arm with old solder repair.
