"Singerie", from the French for "Monkey Trick", is a genre of art in which monkeys are depicted dressed and acting like humans. Often used to satirize human behavior, this theme was popular in fine and decorative arts dating back to the 17th century. The scenes often show monkeys engaging in refined or everyday activities, such as playing music or painting, as is featured in these works.

Splitting to the panels, some abrasions with associated losses, very light areas of retouch.
