Late 18th century, red-painted pine and bentwood with forged iron strapwork mounts and bail upper handle, rectangular form with curved corners, hinged top with faint round stenciled petal design, unmarked.

9 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 19 1/2 in.

Surface wear to paint and chipping to wood, and scattered age cracks; iron mounts with areas of loss including loss to lock.
