Anne Worsham Richardson was an American artist best known for her precise and realistic paintings of birds and wildlife. A native of South Carolina, she was largely self-taught and began painting at an early age. Her deep interest in ornithology shaped her career, and she gained recognition for the scientific accuracy and fine detail in her work. In 1974, she was named South Carolina’s first Artist Laureate.

Over the course of her career, Richardson created thousands of wildlife paintings. She also founded the Anne Worsham Richardson Wild Bird Museum in Summerville, South Carolina, where she lived and worked for much of her life. Her original paintings are included in public and private collections nationwide.
