Centennial Carved Pine Blanket Chest

Circa 1870, white pine, hinged lid with oak battens, interior with till to the right, single drawer raised on later ball and claw feet, hand carved details feature an eagle and shield to the lid to represent the Great Seal of the United States, the case front with two dragons and floral motifs, case sides with repeating floral motifs.

33 x 39 x 18 in.

Later feet; cut/patch/repair at hinges; no key; later pulls; lid with cut/patch at front right corner; cut/patch at lock (later lock); till missing lid.
