Early 18th century, carved and gilt ears, antique tapestry fragment upholstery with large brass nail head trim, scrolled knuckle arms, the larger chair with straight legs and pierced stretcher (56 x 25 x 20 in.); the shorter with turned legs and turned stretcher base (49.5 x 26 x 23 in.).

Antique tapestry upholstery with age appropriate wear, some surface losses and toning from use; insect damage throughout; the larger with joint looseness; front right leg with hairline crack; the shorter chair with chips and loss to gilt ears; rear feet tipped 1/2 inch; rear left leg with edge patch near center; front legs with restoration and /or later.
