Attributed Thomas Day, American Classical Mahogany Chest of Drawers

Caswell County, circa 1840, mahogany veneer, poplar and white pine secondary, the case with upper "book-page" shaped drawer front over three recessed graduated drawers, flanked by bold "book-page" stiles, recessed panel sides, front S-scrolled forward facing feet, rear straight legs from the stile.

43 x 43.5 x 21.5 in.

As found estate condition; old, likely original surface with dark patina and crazing; top with surface scratches and staining; veneer chips; no key; later (but old) glass pulls; the back with white chalk inscriptions.
