Second half 19th century, drum case with 3-inch floral decorated Arabic dial, eight day movement numbered and signed "3892 / E.D." with platform escapement striking on a bell, supported atop a billowing cloud with striding cupid, musical ornament surmounting, carved crimson marble base with ormolu mounts, raised on four toupie feet.

10 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 4 1/2 in.

Some areas of patina loss; platform escapement missing jeweled mount; cupid likely holding a later replaced trumpet attribute; some minor edge chips to marble; moving dial hands activates the bell chime, not guaranteed to be in working condition; without key.
