A gift from the artist to the consingor's late husband

Baltimore, Maryland, artist Dolores Moran was both a painter and playwright. She began making art from an early age, and later attended the Maryland Institute College of Art and Johns Hopkins University. In her last year at the institute, she married fellow artist Charles Moran. Her oeuvre consisted of expressionist and surrealist figural paintings throughout her career. She turned to writing plays in the last 15 years of her life that were performed in Baltimore and off Broadway. She passed away after a battle with breast cancer in 2005.
