Private Ohio Collection A collection exploring North Carolina's proverbs, games, music, superstitions, and more. Frank Clyde Brown was a Virginia native who came to North Carolina to teach at Trinity College (Duke University) as Professor of English. He established the North Carolina Folklore Society in 1913, and is perhaps most remembered for the publication of N.C. folklore that was collected under his direction.
Boards with some shelf wear; page edges with occasional foxing, mark, or grime; interiors generally very clean with only rare soiling, light handling wear, and foxing at endpapers and page edges; vol. I with a few leaves very slightly loose, vol. III printed on heavier paper, and vol. VI with previous ownership information on front endpaper; jackets with toning, edge wear, and chips, vol. I with price clipped jacket, and vol. III jacket with larger losses. A very good set.
