Silk, contemporary, the silk satin scarves each hand-dyed with a marbled pattern, two in shades of aqua and gold, one in shades of dark magenta and gold, with hand-sewn rolled hems, the artist's cipher stamped to one corner of each, accompanied by original care labels. Proceeds to benefit the general Penland Scholarship.

Being sold to benefit Penland School of Craft, Penland, North Carolina

Penland’s scholarship program exists to make our workshops accessible to those who are not able to participate without financial assistance and to create educational opportunities for people who have been underrepresented at Penland and in the craft world. Proceeds from this auction will help fund existing scholarships, with some proceeds designated towards specific scholarships as noted in the listings.

Laura Sims was a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, and an exhibiting member of the Piedmont Craftsmen from 2009-2014. She taught classes at Penland, the John C. Campbell Folk School, and Arrowmont, where she organized an International Marbling Conference that was attended by marbling artists from all over the world.
