From a Prominent Collector, Aiken, South Carolina

Christine Kosiba has been sculpting her clay figural works in the western North Carolina area for the last 17 years. Christine explains that her work "incorporates human and animal forms in dream-like figurative pieces that speak to a visceral need and desire that I believe burns in all of us to reclaim this connection. Clay grounds me, yet allows my ideas to take flight. The natural world has been my primary influence and inspiration. My focus on myth, imagery, narrative, and archetypal energies blur for me the lines between human and animal, and shared stories emerge in each piece. Animal metaphors convey the human condition and also speak to the interconnectedness of all living things."

Her work is currently for sale at the Red Wolf Gallery on Main Street in Brevard, Norh Carolina and Biltmore Craft Gallery, Signature Contemporary Craft Gallery in Atlanta, and Signature 9 Gallery in Roanoke, Virginia. She has exhibited at Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, North Carolina and Copper Fox Gallery in Franklin, Tennessee.

Good estate condition; hare sculpture can be detached from pole; cracking and distressing to wood stand consistent with age.
