Gerard Francis Tempest was an Italian-born American artist, architect, and World War II veteran. After the war, he studied with renowned artists including Giorgio de Chirico, and founded the art movement known as Abstract Spiritualism. His work was exhibited internationally and is held in collections such as the Vatican Museum. Tempest also designed and built
Villa Tempesta in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, blending his artistic and architectural vision.
