Karl Mayr-Graetz was an Austrian painter known for his intimate genre scenes and finely observed portraits. Trained in Graz, Nuremberg, and Munich, and influenced by his friendship with realist Wilhelm Leibl, he brought warmth and naturalism to depictions of everyday life. Active mainly in Munich and later Murnau, his work reflects both academic precision and poetic sensitivity.
Later gold paint to frame; overall in good estate condition; no evidence of retouch visible under UV light.
