2006-2013, hand-painted and salt-glazed stoneware, (12) pieces to include a lidded teapot (7 in.); a square footed bowl (8 1/2 in.); a rectangular footed serving tray (19 1/2 in.); (3) square footed dinner plates (all approximately 10 in.); (2) square footed dessert plates (8 in.); (3) mugs with white interior glaze and (1) mug with ochre interior glaze (tallest 5 1/4 in.), all inscribed with signature and date to underside.

Being sold to benefit Penland School of Craft, Penland, North Carolina Penland’s scholarship program exists to make their workshops accessible to those who are not able to participate without financial assistance and to create educational opportunities for people who have been underrepresented at Penland and in the craft world. Proceeds from this auction will help fund existing scholarships, with some proceeds designated towards specific scholarships as noted in the listings.
Charlie moved back to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1999 to teach ceramics at his alma mater Guilford College. What he thought would be a semester long appointment has turned into 2 decades. Over the last 20 years Charlie has grown his business and family. Along with his wife Danielle, he has 3 wonderful kids.
Charlie describes his process for making his unique pottery forms: "Through the meticulous process of hand painting, I strive to capture the essence of these creatures and bring them to life on each unique pottery piece, inviting viewers to connect with nature's whispers and find solace in the harmony between art and functionality."
