Dance is known for his traditional outdoor life paintings with a realistic and nostalgic style. He weaves together themes of coastal maritime life, waterfowl and wildlife, traditional hunting and fishing practices and serene natural landscapes. His work has been exhibited at major venues including the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA), Mystic Seaport Maritime Gallery, and the Bellamy Mansion Museum. Dance’s paintings are held in private collections nationwide.
