First quarter 20th century, tin-glazed earthenware, the underside inscribed "BOULOGNE.SUR.MER / 1917" with "V [anchor] J/ 800 / *" mark, featuring a two tier letter holder with two covered inkwells, and 2 1/4-in. brass mounted round dial to the apex, manual wind movement with mark of Edouard Serin of Paris numbered 7829.
14 3/4 x 14 x 9 1/2 in.
Private Collection, Pinehurst, North Carolina Scattered cracks to the base with areas of glued repair; some edge and glaze chips; movement does not appear to be in working order, missing two mounting screws to the verso.
