Annyce Alvarez was born in Statesville, North Carolina. She received a BFA from Winthrop College and a Teaching Certificate from Appalachian College. In 1956, she and her husband moved to Raleigh where she worked as a teacher, commercial artist, and as an assistant librarian at the NC Supreme Court Library. She was a prolific painter and exhibited throughout the state at many local galleries and shows.
