Attributed to the Delaware River Valley, circa 1770-1780, white pine and poplar secondary, two part form, dovetailed cases, the upper bookcase with applied cove molded cornice, two large hinged cabinet doors with raised panel, divided interior with three molded edge shelves and ten unusual but distinctive valanced pigeon holes, flanked by fluted quarter columns and above two pull-out candle shelves, the desk with applied top molding trim, slant lid with lipped edge and loper support, detailed interior featuring a prospect door opens to four interior drawers, flanked by two vertical document drawers, eight valanced pigeon holes (two being small hidden drawers), eight small drawers, the case with four graduated lipped drawers, fluted quarter columns, raised on bold ogee bracket feet.

91.25 x 41 x 21.75 in., upper case width 38 in.

Later cornice; later hinges; slant lid with three tight shrinkage cracks; later brasses; original feet, the left rear facing with crack and split; missing one lock.
