England, mid-late 19th century, hand-painted pearlware, to include a couple going to and returning from market, one misspelled "GOING TO MARKTE" and the other "RETURNING HOME" to base, both with painted marks to underside; and a pair of figures with feathered hats astride leaping horses, unmarked.
