The first a silver-plated standish with well cast standing sculptural horse to the center of the medallion form terrace, with two scrolled pen stands and two cut crystal inkwells, raised on talon and ball feet, unmarked (4 1/4 x 6 x 8 1/2 in.); the second a glass standish featuring a recumbent horse flanked by two removable inkwells and shell form tray, with embossed mark to underside "PAT. APLD. FOR" (4 1/4 x 8 x 5 in.); the third an Edwardian silver-plated toast rack or letter stand in the form of a horseshoe and hoof, stamped EPNS and "26107" to the underside (5 1/2 x 5 x 3 1/2 in.); together with a cast and gilt metal horse ornament, unmarked (3 3/4 in.).
From the Estate of the late Peggy Augustus, Old Keswick, Virginia Areas of bleed, light scratches, and some polish residue to plating; inkwell interiors with residue and lids with denting; ornament no longer retaining base; glass horse with chips to ear tips.
