Late 19th century, unsigned, the first three mounted upon stone bases, including a well-modeled greyhound in standing form and licking a bandaged leg, attributed Joseph Victor Chemin (French, 1825-1901) (5 x 8 1/2 x 3 3/4 in.); the second in standing form with gilt finish (6 x 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.); the third a patinated bronze group of two hounds seated in affectionate gesture (5 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.); the fourth in patinated bronze, depicted in seated attentive pose (2 in.).
From the Estate of the late Peggy Augustus, Old Keswick, Virginia Each with areas of rubbing and/or spotting to the patinas and chipping to base edges; stone base on attributed Chemin is likely later, bronze separated from base with associated old glue residue.
