The first transitional late 18th century, featuring an arched crest and shaped stiles with scratch bead, pierced splat with upper teardrop, molded shoe, over upholstered concave seat with brass tack trim, straight front legs with molded corner and inside chamfer, flush stretcher base (37 x 21 x 19 in., seat height 18 in.); the second chair with a molded shaped crest rail and stiles, pierced splat with tobacco leaf relief carving at center of pierced splat, molded shoe, slip seat, molded flush seat rail, square tapered molded front legs, flush stretcher base (37.5 x 21 x 19 in., seat height 17 in.).
