Late 18th century, mahogany veneer, oak secondary, two part form, the bookcase featuring a pronounced broken arched pediment with central plinth and dentil molding, two hinged cabinet doors with astragal moldings, louvered shelved interior, the bureau with hinged lipped vertically veneered lid, drawer support, detailed divided interior, the prospect door with book-matched veneer, flanked by two document drawers with book spine veneer, eight pigeon holes with pierced valances, ten small drawers, the case with three over three lipped graduated drawers (the top two with sliding beveled lids), Chinese Chippendale fretwork to the chamfered corners with lamb's tongue, molded base, ogee bracket feet.

Missing finial; some minor repairs to frieze at spurs; several panes of glass with cracks; left side case molding repaired; the bureau with dovetailed case having replaced back board; veneer shrinkage and splitting to front of lid; baize is old but stained; later pulls with plug holes; original feet, the front left side facing cut and tipped; other feet with breaks and repairs; later corner bracings to feet; case sides with shrinkage splits.
