British, circa 1800, listed by David Arman as “extremely rare”, this creamware jug has the Arms of the United States below the spout and a ship flying an
American Flag on one side, the opposite side has Jefferson’s portrait flanked by two doves, with patriotic verse. The verse was a twist on the song “Hail, Columbia” originally written to celebrate Washington and Adams.
