Celebrated for his depictions of natural beauty, especially scenes of Little Stoney Creek in the Jefferson National Forest, Miller exhibited widely in solo shows across several states and was honored with a museum exhibition at the Atlanta-Marietta Museum in 1997. A founder of the Palette Art Gallery in Christiansburg, his works remain in private collections across the United States and abroad.
