From the Estate of the late Susan C. Frankenberg, Hillsborough, North Carolina Rudolph Bostic was a self-taught folk artist from Savannah, Georgia, known for his boldly colored, imaginative paintings depicting biblical stories, historical figures, and African American life. With no formal training, he created art on found materials like cardboard and poster board, transforming everyday items into expressive, dreamlike scenes. Blending themes of faith, resilience, and culture, Bostic’s work has been widely exhibited and collected, earning him recognition as a major figure in Southern folk art.
Wear to the edges and corners of the board.
