British, circa 1800, creamware with transfer decoration, one side depicting American Eagle coat of arms, the other side with (15) states and star banner with laurel garland encircling the verse: "O Liberty thou Goddess! / heavenly bright, / Profuse of bliss, / and pregnant with delight, / Eternal pleasures / in thy presence reign, / and smiling plenty / leads thy wanton train.," and under the spout is a ribbon tied sprig of grape leaves.
