Likely Pennsylvania, 1740, silk and metallic thread on linen, signed "Jane Grover Her Sampler / 1740" in eyelet and star stitches, above detached floral and heart motifs, the upper register with alphabet and numeral bands including "GR" for King George, and a pious verse surrounding a crown and an example of flame stitching, the lower register with metallic thread and alphanumeric bands, presented in antique frame with previous retail labels to verso.

Frame 14 1/4 x 11 1/2 in.; sight 11 3/4 x 9 in.
