Anthony Finley (1784-1836) was an important American map publisher in Philadelphia. While he published several atlases, he is most famous for A New General Atlas which was issued in numerous editions over many years. It features world maps, maps of various countries, and a large number that feature the United States including maps of individual states.

Extremely sturdy binding though with shelf and age wear to boards including rubbing, scuffing, staining, a few indentations in leather, chipping to paper, and bumped corners; spine with some rubbing and light creasing; hinge cracking; endpapers with staining and writing; damp staining and heavy soiling mostly impacting front endpapers, title, and index; interior with foxing (heaviest in margins), toning, expected offsetting, and occasional stain, grime, debris, and small tear; maps and tables with bright hand-coloring. Overall good condition.
