American Classical Mahogany Drop Leaf Double Pedestal Banquet Table

Circa 1840, mahogany, mahogany veneer, white pine and oak secondary, single board tops with canted corners, large rectangular drop leaf supported by twisting pedestal with quadruped base on scrolled feet with casters.

An unusual form which can be used as a double pedestal banquet table or as a pair of console tables.

Sun fading and some indents to the tops; one top with old shrinkage crack near rear right corner; the same table with rule joint break out; some veneer chips to the feet edge; both table tops are detached from the base.
