Antique Continental Giltwood Picture Frame Wall Clock

Early 19th century, likely Austrian or French, carved wood with gesso and gilt, featuring a round enamel dial with Arabic hour chapters within a carved foliate slip, Neoclassical wreath and floral relief mounts, behind a hinged glass front door, unsigned brass silk suspension movement, includes pendulum.

17 1/2 x 14 1/4 x 5 in.

Some enamel loss to dial, later glass; some chips and gilt losses with areas of later gilt; movement no longer retaining bell or gong; unknown if pendulum is original to movement, appears correct length; dial hands moving at the time of inspection; interior backing with later wood supports; case rear panel cracked and is detached; without winding key.
