The first image was taken in 1880 by Emil Spahn of Newark, New Jersey. Edison is here depicted early in his career. The image is professionally mounted within a wooden frame (22.25 x 19.25 in. overall) having applied decoration. Included is a 1972 letter from Elizabeth R. Albro, a National Park Service curator, validating the authenticity of the image. Very fine condition....plus: a second image depicting an elderly Thomas Edison on the porch of the Milan, Ohio home in which he was born. Presented in a walnut frame having decorative carving on its corners (12 x 15 in. overall).
