Clayville, New York, 34 1/2 in. curved steel blade, cast brass branching guard stamped "C85", the ricasso obverse stamped: "D J Millard / Clayville N.Y.", ricasso reverse stamped with inspector stamps of Charles E. Wilson: "US / C.E.W. / 1862."
Overall length 40.25 in.
This model was much lighter than the M1840 "Wristbreaker", and was one of the smallest contracts the government made at 10,000 swords.
Overall fair estate condition, steel has moderate oxidation and pitting with blunted tip, hilt has moderate oxidation and wear from age and use; without scabbard.
