KING'S IMPROVMENT PATENTED MARCH 29, 1866, OCTOBER 16, 1860 present on 24 1/4 in. octagon barrel with full length magazine tube, dovetail rear sight with elevator, dovetail front sight, plain walnut buttstock and forend, brass buttplate with trapdoor and cleaning rods present.

Overall excellent estate condition for age, bluing throughout is quite present having an old gun browning patina, scattered light blemishes and light surface rust along upper flats of barrel, bore is clean albeit slightly frosted with clearly discernible rifling in good condition, action operates smoothly with slight stiffness, very minimal screw slot damage, stock finish in very health condition, light field marks for the period present, no visible cracking of significant damage, brass buttplate trap door operational with cleaning rods contained inside stock.
