Late 20th century, the first, a white glazed terracotta seated monkey with arms folded and multicolor glazed features, labeled "HANDMADE / ITALY 1P" with serial number to interior; the second, a multicolor glazed porcelain seated monkey holding baby, unmarked but also likely Italian, each monkey paired with, but not attached, to conforming wood base, both with silk shades and elephant finials.

From the Collection of Madeleine Katavolos, Pinehurst, North Carolina Both working at time of evaluation; first seated monkey with firing crack to base, crack running from interior to wrap around towards right arm with associated glaze touch up to exterior; chip to base of monkey holding baby; both shades with several tears, one with partial loss to silk lining; scattered scuff marks to both wood bases, one with small crack to underside.
