Soviet Union, 1970-1991, (10) lidded lacquer boxes with hand-painted and gilt designs depicting Russian folklore (including sagas of the Firebird and Troika scenes) to lids, all signed by artist, titled, dated, and marked "Па́лех" (Palekh) to lid, some marked "Made in USSR" to underside.

Several boxes with paper receipts or certificates of authenticity in interior; all with light scuffs to underside; oval footed box with woman and deer with loss to wood securing hinge to lid; a few boxes with gilt rubbing to trim; square box with man slaying dragon with chip to one corner; another square box with nick to lid.
