18th-19th century, tin-glazed earthenware, the first two with cobalt decoration of a lion and leopard, attributed to Ravesteijn, Utrecht (6 in.); a blue and white decorated tile of a mermaid (5 in.); and two in manganese featuring a horse and standing figure, both with quatrefoil spandrels (5 1/4 in.).
From the Collection of Josephine Chapman Borthwick, Pinehurst, North Carolina Cracks and repairs to both manganese tiles; some expected edge chipping to the perimeter of each.
