18th century, likely French and/or English, each unsigned, the largest in carved horn, oval form featuring a relief portrait of Charles I (4 in.); the second a patch box of rectangular form, translucent horn lid inlaid with 18K gold scallop shell motifs flanking a central courting birds vignette, hinged to a vermeil .925 silver gilt base (XRF tested) (2 1/2 in.); the third a patch box in oval form, lid featuring silver and mother of pearl pique work figure of a jester, hinged to a .900 silver base (XRF tested) (2 1/2 in.).
