Ruth Hogan Krzyzowski paints in oil, gouache, and pastel, drawing inspiration from the landscapes she has cherished—mountains, canyons, oceans, lakes, and rivers. Her Impressionistic yet balanced style combines rich texture with Zen-like simplicity, aiming to capture the essence of the natural world and remind viewers of its beauty. A supporter of land preservation in northern Michigan, she has donated proceeds from her artwork to the Little Traverse Conservancy. Formerly an elementary teacher in Ann Arbor for over two decades, Ruth now devotes her time to painting, including a growing interest in plein air work.
