19th century, French and/or English, inlaid tortoiseshell, unsigned, some with lined compartments, the first two are rectangular form card cases, one featuring mother of pearl inlay of birds perched within a floral branch, the second with silver inlays depicting chinoiserie figural garden scene (4 in.); a larger oblong card case with gilt foliate and shield escutcheon inlay, monogrammed "A.C."(5 1/2 in.); the third a cased writing pad with gilt line and cartouche inlays monogrammed "SS," interior with paper pad and metal pencil holder (4 1/4 in.); two oval coin purses with silver bird inlays to one, and ornate gilt shield cartouche to the other (larger 3 1/2 in.); and the seventh a small snuff box with silver metal inlay tot the lid (3 in.).
