Mid-19th century, mahogany and deal secondary, sarcophagus form, hinged lid with cove molding and ebony trim, brass boss and line inlay border to the obverse and apex, cast and gilt medallion ring handles, inlaid lobed escutcheon, opens to a rose velvet upholstered interior, fitted with twin removable tea compartments with conforming inlays to the hinged lid, flanking a central sugar well without glass.
