All third quarter 18th century, including an over upholstered side chair with straight front legs with molded edge and stretcher supports (38 x 21 x 20 in., seat height 17 in.); the second a Chippendale side chair with pierced vasiform back, upholstered slip seat, scalloped front seat rail, straight legs with stretcher base (36 x 21 x 18 in., seat height 17.5 in.); the third a Queen Anne side chair with shaped crest rail, curved vasiform back-splat with reverse edge chamfer, upholstered slip seat, front cabriole legs with scrolled knee returns, pad feet (41 x 21 x 17 in., seat height 18 in.).
From the Estate of Dr. Charles & Shirley Herring, Kinston, North Carolina All with later upholstery; the first with some insect damage; crack and repair to rear left foot; the second with break and repair to front right leg at seat rail joint; break to lower left stretcher near rear leg; the third with reset crest rail; break and repair to rear left leg near seat rail; likely later rear leg stretcher.
