Geoff Calabrese was born and raised in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1994 with a BFA in Ceramics and Art Education. He lived and worked at the Penland School of Crafts for six years, participating in the Penland Core Fellowship Program in 1996-1997. Calabrese received his MFA in Ceramics from the University of Georgia in 2005. Recently, his work has been included in Connections, Gallery Citrine, Wilmington, NC; Penland Clay: Shaping North Carolina Ceramics, NC Pottery Center; Containment, CAB Gallery, UNCW; and the Nellie Allen Smith Juried Pottery Competition, Cape Fear Studios, Fayetteville, NC. As a ceramics faculty member at CFCC, Calabrese is deeply engaged in teaching and student success. His work is represented by the Bryand Gallery in Wilmington, NC, and the Lake City Emporium in Lake City, SC.
