Shirley Cadmus (NC), Two Art Pottery Vases

(2) raku fired vessels in textured metallic blue glaze, the first a large tapered ovoid form vase signed "CADMUS / Aug 06" to underside (12 in.); the second a squat vase signed "CADMUS 2012" to underside (5 1/2 in.).

Shirley lives and works in Milton, NC as owner and artist of the Milton Studio Art Gallery. Upon realizing she had damaged her lungs from years of breathing in toxins from clay building and firing, she took a step back from working with the medium. Shirley received the North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant 2020-2021 and began to work with 3D pens creating large scale vessels that mimicked the forms she had previously created in clay. She continues to create and sell her 3D built forms in Milton today.
