George III Mahogany Slant Front Bureau

Circa 1800, mahogany, mahogany veneer, pine secondary, slant lid with molded edge and loper supports, green leather writing surface, central inlaid prospect door with small interior drawer, flanked by two document drawers, six small drawers, six valanced pigeon, the case with two over three cock beaded graduated drawers, straight bracket feet.

Top with dark staining and patches; one loper missing handle and with wear to facing; case stiles with veneer cracks and repairs; case sides with shrinkage cracks; slant lid with patch at clasp; later leather writing surface; prospect door rest; later pulls.
