Full butternut cloth with gilt-lettered leather spine label, all edges stained blue; in original blue slipcase. 4to; xv, [1], [1-2]-204, [4]pp. Selected, with an introduction, by Carl Van Doren. (Some mild staining, spotting, and browning to the cloth boards; rare spot of foxing to the interior, otherwise extremely clean; slipcase with some toning, a few minor marks, and expected discoloration to the interior. Very good/very good.)

Full leather with embossed illustration on the front cover, gilt-lettered spine, all edges stained, and pictorial endpapers; in original glassine jacket and patterned slipcase. Large octavo; xiii, [1], 170, [2]pp. Illustrated with drawings by Curry throughout. With original publisher's slip about the book laid in loose. (Light wear to boards and interior with a couple of minor marks and offsetting from the illustrations, with the volume overall near pristine; the jacket with toning and a few small chips and tears; the slipcase with some wear to the corners and a couple of dents. A near fine copy in a very good jacket and slipcase.)

"The illustrations are the last work of the late John Steuart Curry" and the book was issued unsigned due to his death in 1946. Red linen-covered boards with gilt-lettered blue leather labels on the cover and spine; in original slipcase. 4to; vi, [2], 454, [2]pp. (Very light foxing on the page edges and a couple of minor marks to the interior, otherwise near fine; fair plus slipcase.)

John Steuart Curry was one of the three major Midwestern Regionalists, along with Grant Wood and Thomas Hart Benton. He is best known for his scenes of small town life in Kansas, as well as the controversial mural featuring John Brown in the Kansas State Capitol building.
