This landscape was painted in October through November 2024 after Hurricane Helene. The artist describes is as the "Raven's eye view" of the area post Helene.

Born in Buffalo, New York, James Kerr credits Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter, and Carl Illig, a prominent landscape painter, as his two greatest mentors. He describes his work as all about "capturing a moment in time."
Now living in Delray Beach, Florida, Kerr spent many years maintaining a studio near Banner Elk in the North Carolina mountains. His vibrant and colorful paintings capture the best of a Carolina lifestyle.
