Eugène Pechaubès was a French painter and printmaker best known for his dynamic depictions of racehorses. He first gained recognition for his detailed military scenes, particularly those portraying the Second Empire, before focusing almost entirely on equestrian subjects and the excitement of France’s great racecourses.
