Estate of the Late Carol Ann Altieri
Carol Altieri (1948–2025), a quintessential New Yorker who rose from college drop-out to the highest echelons of CBS Broadcasting, spent 36 years as the ethical heart of the “Tiffany Network.” As Senior Vice President of Program Practices, she authored the legendary CBS Program Standards, testified before Congress, and fiercely defended both creative freedom and broadcast responsibility. Known for her razor-sharp wit, encyclopedic film knowledge, and an effortless elegance, Carol lived independently in Los Angeles surrounded by rescued cats and lifelong friends. As Carol would say, “All in all, not too bad for a dropout who had more faith in herself than in a sheepskin.”
